We have had a busy and adventurous few weeks…

A thankfully dry evening in June saw us take to the hills of Matlock to explore the caves of Jug Holes Mine.

Led by the Scouts Caving Team we crawled, climbed and sometimes slithered our way through the caves and mud. It was certainly an experience!

July saw us head off to Holt, Norfolk for our first Unit camp. We had an amazing weekend away in the sunshine full of treasure hunts, fish n chips, ice creams, boat trips, seal watching, dam building, camp fires with toasted marshmallows and halloumi (we have very sophisticated tastes) and last but not least a visit to the beach.

Feeling even more adventurous is one of our Explorer Scouts, Mark Wadey who leaves for the USA this month to attend the World scout Jamboree. Mark is also our first Explorer to gain the Chief Scout’s Platinum Award.
Many congratulations to Mark for this great achievement and we hope you have a fantastic time at the Jamboree!
