The 50th annual circular walk for Leukaemia Research took place on the 11th of May 2019. The circular walk goes along the canals, through Ilkeston, onto Stapleford and then back to Bramcote. Over the 50 years, the walk has raised over £250,000, and 50 years ago a child diagnosed with leukaemia would have died but today that child has an 80+ percent chance of being cured. There were 123 walkers this year, a large number of them were from Trowell. A special batch of over 70 cakes were made by Creative Occasions Ilkeston and the huge balloons were donated from the owner of Creative Occasions. Overall, it was a very successful walk and we hope to raise more money than ever before!
