Ilkeston Pre-Access Learners Raise Funds for Treetops Hospice Again in 2019.
As part of their traditional annual fundraising, Ilkeston Pre-Access learners at Ilkeston Campus of Derby College have raised £405 for Treetops Hospice. Every year, kind- hearted Pre-Access mature learners do this to show they care for others who are less fortunate around them. Rebecca Arif, Natasha Bexton, Evanson Githinji, Sophie Harrison, Cheryl James, Dorota Kuchta and Selina Taylor have collected tombola and raffle prizes from the local community, baked cakes and sold tickets to raise funds.
Caroline Greatorex, Adult Pre-Access Personal Tutor at Ilkeston Campus, said, ‘I’m so proud of these learners. Each year the learners work so hard to help others. This is a true reflection of their caring nature. As they are studying on a Level 2 Pre-Access Skills for Health Professions course, it is fitting that they show their skills in this way. They will not only progress in terms of achieving their qualifications, they will have also shown that they can practise their skills as well.’
The Pre-Access learners would like to thank everyone in the community who donated a prize for this worthwhile cause.
