Erewash businesses have a chance to find out more about forging links with Japan at a major conference taking place in Derby on Friday 1 February.

The New Roads to Japan event will focus on creating opportunities for those local businesses across Derbyshire that are interested in the Japanese market and has been organised by the Japan Local Government Centre (JLGC) as part of the recent 20th anniversary of Toyota-Derbyshire twinning activities.

It will take place at the Roundhouse Derby College on Pride Park between 11am and 3pm and anyone interested can register a place now at www.eventbrite.co.uk

Business representatives from Erewash and beyond will learn more about creating opportunities for local business through international municipal twinning links, plus the importance of local authorities in the UK forming long-term partnerships to support their economies.

Councillor Michael Powell, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Regeneration and Planning, says:

“This is a great opportunity for businesses in Erewash to find out if and how they can forge commercial links with Japan. It is an event that is as relevant to our local businesses as it is to other areas. We encourage people to register and attend this free conference where there will be a keynote speaker, an exhibition and the chance to ask questions and network with trade, economic development and international trade experts.”
