Community defibrillator goes live at local family pub

A community has come together to purchase a life saving AED (automated external defibrillator).

The defibrillator is located on the outside of a newly refurbished local family owned pub, The Little Acorn on Awsworth Road in Ilkeston.

The life-saving device is available to everyone in the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The defibrillator is contained in a waterproof, secure cabinet and is protected with a pin code. This code is provided by a member of the emergency services as soon as a call to 999 is made and the location of the public-access defibrillator will be provided.

The defibrillator will be unveiled by Santa Claus and become live at 4:10pm on Saturday 15th December 2018.

Local residents are thrilled that such equipment is available, as we all seem to be close to someone with heart problems nowadays.

A celebration of the unveiling will take place Saturday night.

The Little Acorn boasts a family friendly atmosphere with a restaurant serving home cooked food and regular live entertainment. For further information contact us on 0115 944 5611 or visit our facebook page @Little Acorn – 2016.
