We at the Cedars and Larches care home in Ilkeston had a wonderful day celebrating the marriage of HRH Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle .The day started off with a live interview from the home by BBC Radio Derby. We spoke of the plans for the day ahead and residents engaged in questions about past Royal Weddings. The wedding was watched in both lounges followed by a three course Wedding Lunch .
After lunch the home was open for a traditional street party theme, including a local singer (John Haddow), bouncy castle, face painting, balloon modelling, tombola, meet and greet the corgis in corgis corner (members of the UK Corgis Club), local councillor Maggie Throup called in, official council photographer and buffet including wedding cake. The care home was awarded a grant which was spent wisely in providing a great day for both the home and members of the local community. Kind regards Alison Richards and Louise Haywood activity coordinators.
