Ashmere Shows Support To National Care Home Open Day

Ashmere Derbyshire who has seven residential homes across Derbyshire demonstrated its commitment to working with the community, by opening their doors and organising an open day packed with family fun.

David Poxton Managing Director said “This year’s Care Home Open Day took place on 21st April 2018 and was all about Linking Communities. It’s was a chance to celebrate all the different people, cultures and relationships in our area and show the community that care homes are friendly, happy and exciting places to be and this fits in perfectly with the other community based activities we are organising ”

Ashmere West Hallam based on Newdigate Street, held a party inspired by the Queens Birthday with included cake stall, sweetie cart and hot food, tombola, craft stalls and face painting, hook a duck and outdoor games.

Resident Pauline Starbuck aged 83 said “Its been a lovely afternoon and you can see all the hard work the girls have put into the day ad its so nice to have the place filled with family and friends. When is the next one??”

Finley aged 11 said “Its even a brilliant day, the hook a duck challenges were hard but we did them all”
