Super Draw leads to Super Win for Ilkeston Man
An Ilkeston man has won £2,000 in the Treetops Lottery Super Draw and plans to visit New York to meet his newest grandchild with his winnings.
Mr. Hill supports the local charity as the hospice has cared for several of his friends in the past. Treetops provides nursing care and emotional support for adults with life limiting conditions living in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Every year the Treetops Lottery holds a bumper draw and increases the weekly prize pool for one week only. This year the Super Draw was sponsored by local company Acorn Windows and there were 19 cash prizes up for grabs with the top prize being £2,000.
The Lottery win came as a complete surprise to Mr. Hill as he explained:
“I went into shock! I have a go on a lot of charity raffles and I’ve never won. This is the first time and it’s amazing!”
When asked what he planned to do with his winnings, Mr. Hill said that he will be taking a long-awaited trip to New York to visit his daughter and grandchildren, one of whom he has never met.

“Playing the Treetops Lottery is a fun way to help support the hospice. We support people with illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. We also support their carers and families and all our services are provided free of charge.
“The hospice has to raise more than £3 million every year to run and 70% of this comes from charitable donations and fundraising activities including our Lottery.”
Since the Treetops Lottery began over twenty years ago, it has raised over £4million for the hospice. Treetops services include Support and Information, a Day Care Unit, Hospice at Home nurses and Therapeutic Services including counselling, art therapy and complementary therapy.
