On June 22nd, we had our first ‘celebration of reading evening’ with over 40 students being awarded for their progress in reading this year. Many students celebrating had been involved in the completion of the ‘Friesland reading challenging’ – having read 100 times this year and some had been involved in our mentoring scheme either as mentees or mentors.

Overall, it was an enjoyable evening had by all with students sharing pages of their favourite books and their experiences of the mentoring scheme. Many students brought their parents along to celebrate in their achievements and to enjoy the buffet! It was brilliant to see so many students coming together to celebrate their love of reading.
