A local firm – ‘Cloak Rooms’ have just won ‘Best Gift Ware Product’ from Trophex for their hand made wooden fonts that are growing in popularity as christening presents.
The Gregorys, the husband and wife team who run the factory at Langley Mill, have kindly given the fonts free of charge (with a personal inscription) to the baptism families at All Saints Church in Kirk Hallam. They normally retail at £20 each. They also give bespoke unique door wedges to the wedding couples at the same church.
Kirk Hallam vicar Rev’d Christine French said: “The kindness of the couple is an example to us all, and the fonts, and indeed door wedges are beautiful”. At a recent wedding, the happy couple also had their two dogs with them and Cloak Rooms gave the dogs a wedding present of their own – uniquely inscribed bowls!
The Gregorys are delighted with the award and hope to roll out more fonts. They are currently working with cathedrals so that their creations can be on sale in their gift shops.
