Alannah Biggs’ efforts to make sure the Arena Food Bank is well stocked for Christmas has exceeded all expectations.

She wanted to beat last year’s total of 950 items and has collected six times as much!

“We’ve been blown away by people’s generosity this year,” she told us.

Read the story in the upcoming January Ilkeston Life.

PS What do you think was the most popular item donated? Beans? Soup? Tea? Coffee? Find out in the paper.

  1. I live on Shipley View. Is there an old person or persons who would like a Christmas Dinner ie about 4 pm ? I have done it before when I lived in Chaddesden. My kids and I delivered a dinner under foil and a flask of gravy and a christmas cracker to an old persons house. I am a lone working parent and support a womans charity in Derby but I will be happy to provide a couple of meals to someone on the estate.
