Budding stargazers have the chance to get tips from the experts and use professional equipment when members of Ilkeston and District Astronomical Society host a ‘look to the skies’ night at Erewash Museum.
The equipment will be set up in the museum grounds on Saturday 12 November between 7pm-9pm and anyone wanting to learn more about astronomy can go along to this free event.
Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:
“This will be an out of this world event for people of all ages and offers a wonderful opportunity to get expert advice on the night sky, the moon, planets and all things celestial.”
Erewash Museum is in Ilkeston town centre, a short walk from the Market Place. Opening hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am-4pm, and Monday to Saturday during school holidays. Admission is free. Contact 0115 907 1141, email [email protected] or visit the Facebook page /erewashmuseum
