Maggie Throup MP is calling on local residents to join with her in a day of action by volunteering at one of the many fantastic local charities and voluntary organisations across Erewash.
Building on the success of last year’s event which saw Maggie and her team volunteer at a number local charities and community groups across the constituency, including Community Concern Erewash, Direct Help and Advice, Treetops Hospice, Church of the Nazarene and the Canaan Trust; the 2016 Erewash Volunteer Day will be held on Friday 18th November 2016.
As part of the day Maggie is also asking any organisation willing to take a volunteer for the day to contact her and put in a bid.
Speaking about the day Maggie said:
“I am delighted that my team have again agreed to give up a day of their annual leave in order to take part in this year’s Erewash Volunteering Day on Friday 18th November.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to promote the vital role that volunteers play within our community, as well as the fantastic voluntary-led charities and community organisation that go above and beyond to support and enhance the lives of people right across Erewash.
“I am hoping to encourage even more of our community to get involved this year, and I am asking any organisation who would like a volunteer on the day to contact my office with more details.”
If you would like Maggie or one of her time to volunteer at your charity or organisation then please contact her with more details on either 0115 930 0521 or by emailing [email protected].
