Milk intended for children has been stolen from Cotmanhay Infants School.

It is the latest in a series of setbacks the school has received at the hands of intruders.

Headteacher Kathy Latchford has told how the Beauvale Drive school previously had its toy shed damaged, windows broken, lights broken and children’s work spoilt. Now a large quantity of milk intended for its youngest pupils has been taken.

She said: “The reason I get so frustrated is that we work so hard for everyone to feel proud of the school and community and the actions of a handful of people then takes that away.”

She has appealed to the local community to keep an eye on the school and report any suspicious activity to the police.

The school re-opened on 6th September after the summer break.

Anyone with any information can call the police non-emergency number, 101.

Tomorrow (Thursday) Action4Cotmanhay, a group striving to improve life in the area, meets for its Annual General Meeting at Bennerley Fields School, Stratford Street, 5.15pm.
