Community and voluntary groups in Erewash are being urged to apply for grants of up to £2,000 to help them with their work.

There are just three weeks left to the latest deadline to apply for one of Erewash Borough Council’s Small Grants, with applications needing to be submitted by Monday 19 September.

The council has helped hundreds of groups over the last few years through the grants scheme and is still keen to hear from more groups – however large or small – that could use a small grant for specific projects that help people living in the borough.

Nearly 21 community and voluntary groups have already been helped in the first two rounds of this year, winning a share of just over £27,571 in total.

Councillor Carol Hart, Erewash Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Community Engagement, says:

“We want to hear from groups of all kinds – our small grants are here to help you. We know there are so many organisations out there doing so much good work in our borough to help residents of all ages and in all kinds of ways. So tell us about your work and get in touch. We’re here to help.”

The next deadline for grant applications is 5.30pm on Monday 19 September. Full details of the scheme and how to apply for a grant are available at www.erewash.gov.uk – click on the ‘Community and Living’ table and the link to ‘Grants’. Anyone needing help to fill in the application can contact the council’s Community Engagement Officer Colin Handley via email colin.handley@erewash.gov.uk or on 0115 907 2244.

Subject to funding remaining available, the next ‘rolling’ deadline will be Monday 14 November at 5.30pm.
