Erewash Borough Council has again joined forces with the PDSA animal charity to bring another four roadshow events that will offer free dog health checks.

Erewash dog owners can take their four-legged friends for the health check by a PDSA veterinary nurse that will cover body condition and weight, teeth and gums, eyes and ears, coat condition and general fitness. Places are limited and will be on a first come first served basis.

The council’s Neighbourhood Dog Wardens will also be at the events offering free dog micro-chipping and advice.

All four health check roadshows will be held from 10am – 5pm at the following locations:

• Tuesday 16 August – Sure Start Children’s Centre Car Park, Beauvale Drive, Cotmanhay

• Wednesday 17 August – Sandiacre Library Car Park, Doncaster Avenue, Sandiacre

• Thursday 18 August – Sawley Community Centre, off Draycott Road, Sawley

• Friday 19 August – Ashbrook Community Centre, Ashbrook Avenue, Borrowash

Councillor Garry Hickton, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Environment, says:

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with the PDSA and welcome them back to our borough. Previous roadshows have proved incredibly popular and we would encourage owners to go along to these latest visits to get their dogs checked out and find out from the experts about how they can keep their dogs healthy and happy.”

Cats Protection representatives will also be at the events offering FREE cat spay/neuter vouchers for owners. Owners can arrange for their pets to have the procedure at a later date – owners must NOT take their cats to the events.

Representatives from the RSPCA will also join the roadshow to give advice on small furry animals and birds – but again owners must NOT take their pets to the events.
