Residents and young people are now being asked to choose their favourite design for the £130,000 new wheeled sports park which is to be installed at Kirk Hallam.

Two options have been drawn up and Erewash Borough Council wants to hear which one people like best during a consultation that closes at 12noon on Thursday 14 April.

Students from the local Daillimore and Ladywood primary schools and Kirk Hallam Community Academy are also helping with the consultation, while consultation forms are being delivered to nearby households.

Details of the two options and a voting form to download and return can be found on the ‘Latest News’ section on the homepage of the council’s website www.erewash.gov.uk

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“We’re keen to find out which design is a favourite – particularly, of course, with the young people who will be using this new facility.”

The wheeled sports area – for skateboarders, in-line skaters and scooters through to BMX – is to be installed on Kirk Hallam playing fields at the rear of Windsor Crescent. It has been funded by the council, Kirk Hallam Big Local and WREN, a not-for-profit business that awards grants to community projects.
