Erewash Borough Council will restart its garden waste collections next month.
The brown bin collections will get underway in the south of the borough week commencing Monday 22 February for residents in Long Eaton, Borrowash, Breaston, Draycott, Risley, Sandiacre and Sawley.
In the north of the borough, the collections will restart week beginning Monday 29 February for residents in Ilkeston, Breadsall, Cotmanhay, Dale Abbey, Kirk Hallam, Little Eaton, Morley, Ockbrook, Stanley, Stanley Common, Stanton-by-Dale and West Hallam.
Any residents who have been using their brown bins for recyclable waste over the winter must revert to using the bin for garden waste only from 8 February onwards in the south zone and from 15 February in the north of the borough.
Any kerbside recycling should be placed in green bags, which are free from either Ilkeston or Long Eaton town hall receptions, or blue bins.
Councillor Garry Hickton, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Environment, says:
“We are coming into the busy gardening season, so I know gardeners will be ready for our brown bins collections to get underway again. There is no additional charge for garden waste collections in Erewash and the service makes gardening easier for everyone.”
