Children aged 7-11 years can learn all the skills of golf during a Junior Golf Fun Day at Rutland Sports Park in Ilkeston on Saturday 19 December.
Putting, chipping, pitching, bunker shots and full swing will all be coached while there will be a chance to have a round of golf on the course during the event which runs between 12noon and 4pm.
All equipment is provided and those signing up for the day are advised to wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for all weathers. The activities will be on the golf course but will move indoors in the tennis centre if the weather is bad.
Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:
“This will be a great opportunity for children keen to learn about the skills of golf and give them the platform to continue to play and develop in this popular sport. It will be a ‘fairway’ to have fun as well!”
