Erewash Museum is stepping back in time on Saturday 24 October with the sights and sounds of fairgrounds of the past.

Fairground enthusiasts and visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to see and hear an original street organ in the museum grounds and the Fairground Association of Great Britain will be bringing their fairground model display.

Enter into the spirit of Ilkeston Charter Fair by joining in with a taste of how fairs used to be in the past – the free fairground fun starts at 11am and finishes at 4pm.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, said:

“This event is always popular with families and enthusiasts and is a great way to discover more about the history of fairgrounds and gain a real sense of the past, so go along and take a step back in time.”
Erewash Museum is in Ilkeston town centre, a short walk from the Market Place. For more information contact the Museum on 0115 907 1141 or email museum@erewash.gov.uk or www.facebook.com/ErewashMuseum
