Voluntary and community groups across Erewash have until the end of September to apply for grants of up to £2,000 to help them in their work.
Erewash Borough Council opens the second round of its community-boosting Small Grants Scheme this Wednesday (26th August) and wants to hear from groups that are helping people in the borough.
Nearly 40 groups have already been helped in the first round of grants earlier this year, winning a share of just over £31,000 in total.
Councillor Carol Hart, Erewash Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Community Engagement, says:
“We want to hear from groups of all kinds – our small grants are here to help you. We know there are so many organisations out there doing so much good work in our borough to help residents of all ages and in all kinds of ways. Get in touch with us now, apply for a grant to help you in your work.”
A Festival of Funding is being held at Long Eaton Town Hall on 22 September between 10am-3pm when information on the Small Grants scheme and the application process will be available. The Festival is a free, one-stop event for local groups and charities to find out more about the scheme and about money that might be available to them from a wide range of funders.

The council stepped up its support for voluntary organisations last year when it doubled the amount of money available for small grant awards to £80,000 – and it has again made that amount available to help as many groups as possible for the 2015/16 financial year.
Organisations that have already been helped include Tree Tops Hospice, Stanley Village pre-school, Long Eaton’s West Park Walkers and the 16th Ilkeston Scouts.
