Nominations are now open for the 2015 Erewash Sports Awards, to celebrate and honour the outstanding achievements of the borough’s sporting talent and unsung heroes who help make local sport so great at all levels.

There are 16 categories which include awards for coaches, volunteers, clubs, disabled participants, as well as juniors and senior competitors.

The closing date for receipt of nominations is Friday 25 September. Winners from Erewash will go through to the Derby Telegraph Sports Awards and those shortlisted will be invited to attend the Sports Awards evening on 12 November.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“There is a tremendous depth of sporting excellence in our borough and what better way to recognise individuals, teams and clubs for all their hard work and achievements than nominating them for the Erewash Sports Awards.”

Nomination forms are available on the council’s website – click on the ‘Culture and Leisure’ link and then ‘leisure news’.
