Ilkeston’s Pewit Golf throws open its ‘greens’ for a free family Open Day this Saturday (22 August) when people of all ages can check out all the facilities on offer.

The fun event will run from 12.30 to 5pm when beginners can have a go at golf – with all equipment provided – and take advantage of some tips from golf coaches.

Pewit’s Footgolf course will also be part of the free sessions when children and adults alike can try out one of the fastest growing sports in the UK.

The Erewash Borough Council venue is popular with local golf fans of all ages and the free Open Day gives it the chance to show off its facilities to get more people involved in both golf and Footgolf.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“This is going to be a fabulous and free day – the perfect way for families to spend a summer Saturday afternoon. We want to see children and adults joining us to give golf a go – while we expect golf and football fans to find Footgolf a must-try sport! Pewit has some great facilities on offer for families, whatever the golfing ability, so make the most of this free event to find out more.”

All equipment will be provided and there will also be a putting competition for all ages and abilities, with spot prizes and medals to be won.
