Cotmanhay and Granby junior schools met in the annual Action4Cotmanhay Community Cup game at the Pavilion playing fields tonight.
A big crowd, including many parents. watched a much closer game than usual. Granby ran out winners again but only by five goals to two after Cotmanhay had staged an amazing comeback after being 5-0 down at half-time.
The Cotmanhay team, usually on the wrong end of a really big score, refused to be disheartened and had the crowd cheering for them as they hauled themselves back in the game.
Trophies and medals were presented by the Mayor, Councillor Val Custance who said she had got excited watching the players’ efforts.
