Autumn wreaths made at care home

Ilkeston's Canal Vue Care Home celebrated National Day of Arts in Care Homes by marking the transition from summer to autumn with homemade autumn wreaths.

Celebrating the very special day of creativity (24th September), the theme of Creative Communities encouraged residents to come together to create, talk, and just be socially creative in whatever way they saw fit.

Canal Vue residents started the creative activity by foraging nature’s treats from the home’s tree lined grounds. Selecting brightly coloured leaves, berries, conkers and twigs, residents used these to design and create autumnal wreaths.

Naomi Allsop activity coordinator at Canal Vue Care Home says: “We have embraced the National Day of Arts in Care Homes to really appreciate everything autumn has to offer. Marking the transition from summer to autumn we now have a really nice reminder of creating something beautiful together from our own garden.”

Canal Vue is a purpose built modern residential care home designed to provide the very best in residential care for older people. Situated in a scenic and peaceful canal side setting the home offers convenient access to Ilkeston railway station or the M1 and is less than 7 miles from the centre of Nottingham. Managed by a highly skilled and experienced team of carers, comfort in a safe caring environment awaits you with a very warm welcome.
