Books donated by children's author Hilary Robinson were being snapped up by boys and girls of Chaucer Junior School this week. The reading books were handed out by community champion and gardening club leader Kerry Wheatley who had earlier visited the writer at her Yorkshire home. They tell the story of Charlie Tanner and his inquisitive dog Jasper who wants to find out if the moon is made of cheese and do the moon people make pizzas from the cheese, and do they deliver to Earth? There is a sticker in the front cover showing that the book is a gift from Chaucer and Hilary during Covid-19. The author donated over 300 books to the school so that every child could have one. (Sharing books was not allowed during the pandemic.)
