Listen with Isla
A seven-year-old Ilkeston girl is entertaining other children by reading bedtime stories online.
Isla Ramsell is a pupil at Larklands Infants School but is at home currently because of the Coronavirus lockdown.
Her dad Matthew says she loves reading. She recorded her first story on Monday – Little Miss Stubborn and the Unicorn – and was thrilled that it was watched by 600 people!
Isla is planning to read every Monday and Friday night from now on at 6.30pm.
Her dad said: “She knew I was doing some magic videos online for keeping spirits up and wanted to do something herself. She asked if she could read from one of her story books, and it seems to have gone down well.”
Matthew also entertains via the Inspire Fitness Academy channel each Tuesday and Thursday at 3pm doing and teaching simple magic tricks. “It’s a place where people of all ages come to put together a programme catering for all interests – fitness, mental health, cooking, magic, all sorts of stuff. We reached 81,000 people last week!”
