Two West Hallam boys have completed a 10km charity walk as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Joey Fletcher, 13, and Owen Reynolds,14, attend Kirk Hallam Community Academy.
Through the school they are working on their Bronze level award and are raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
On Valentine’s Day (14th February) they walked from West Hallam to Ilkeston delivering flowers to eight care homes and collecting donations for Alzheimer’s on the way.
Joey said: “We chose the Alzheimer’s Society as it is close to my heart because my great grandma suffers with dementia. I hope the money raised will help the research into finding a cure. So far we have raised about £450.”
