Collis and Hilda celebrate their platinum wedding anniversary

A couple who met at the Beauty Spot have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Collis and Hilda Phillips shared the occasion with family, fellow residents and staff at the Cedars and Larches care home, Ilkeston last Saturday, 8th February.
Martin Leonard, a singer from Staffordshire, was on hand to entertain everyone.
Collis Phillips was born in Brussels Terrace, Ilkeston on 9th December 1929.
Hilda Waterhouse was born in Stockport on 6th December 1931.
They were wed at St John’s Church on 8th February 1950 and went on to live all of their married life in Kenilworth Drive, Kirk Hallam.
In their working lives Hilda was employed in a lace factory and Collis was a miner at Cossall Colliery.
The platinum couple shared memories and photographs with their guests who came from various parts of the country to be with them on their special day..
