UNITED WE STAND
Shipley Eco Action Group together with SAVE COTMANHAY & SHIPLEY GREEN BELT are devasted with the prospect of 600 new houses being built on Erewash green belt land.
The two groups met this week and are appealing to residents and other community groups to object to this proposal in numbers. We object on the following grounds…
1. Permanent damage to the environment and wildlife in Cotmanhay Wood
2. Traffic chaos on Heanor Road and Cotmanhay Road, adding to the Waystone Development housing traffic on Hassock Lane South
3. Overburden of local infrastructure including schools and health care- Hopewell Ward at Ilkeston Hospital closed recently and Bennerley School in the last 5 years.
