Becky Gough is part of the team campaigning to keep Beechcroft, West Hallam open. She recalls choosing a care home for her father: "As soon as I walked in, it felt like a community. I can’t express what wonderful care he received at Beechcroft."
Lynne Thornley reveals her fears for her stepfather 'Pete' Watkins. Ilkeston Life readers may recall the WWII veteran was presented with a 75th Anniversary Battle of Arnhem Badge at Beechcroft last year. Now the 97-year-old is facing the upheaval of having to move if the home has to close. "He deserves to spend his last few years in peace and in the comfort of a place he calls home," says Lynne.
Meanwhile, MP Maggie Throup is fronting the effort to save Ladycross care home in Sandiacre. "I am determined to reverse [the decision] and so I am urging as many people as possible to sign-up to my petition and join the campaign fight to save our care home!”
