Notice regarding lollypop lady vacancy
There is a lot of misinformation about the future of the school crossing patrol (lollipop lady) on Church Street. Derbyshire County Council has NOT withdrawn the service and the fact that there is no pedestrian crossing on Church Street means that it meets the council’s criteria for a school crossing patrol to ensure children can cross safely going and coming out of school.
However the council are struggling to recruit for the post and haven’t had much interest in the advertised vacancy. I am sure that somebody locally would be keen to apply for the job and keep this vital service going. I would encourage anyone who is interested to visit the County Council website.
