Major David Ludditt, last officer at Ilkeston Salvation Army before it closed four and a half years ago, has retired. (His wife Major Julie Ludditt continues.) David was an excellent leader and preacher and was appreciated by all who knew him. While at Ilkeston, the Ludditts hosted a popular lunch group with games and a Bible thought to follow. It is really sad that the hall remains boarded up. The band would have been getting ready to go carolling on the streets now, and corps members taking parcels out to anyone in need.
