Delivery of election poll cards

Nearly 85,500 poll cards will be hand-delivered to every Erewash resident who is on the voting register between Tuesday 12th November and Sunday 24th November inclusive.

Delivery of the poll cards is the first key stage in the countdown to the December 12 election, when voters will turn out to elect their MP for the Erewash area in the General Election.

The card gives electors their voter number and details of their polling station – or it will confirm details for those residents who have requested a postal vote.

Residents who want to check that they are registered to vote in Erewash can fill in a form online that will be responded to within one working day by the council’s elections team. Visit www.erewash.gov.uk and click on the ‘Your Council’ tab and follow the ‘elections’ link.

Residents who know they still need to register to vote can do so easily and quickly online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote before the deadline of Tuesday 26 November at midnight.

Voters wanting postal or proxy votes should note the following deadlines:
• 5pm, Tuesday 26 November – for postal votes (or changes to an existing postal vote) and postal proxy applications
• 5pm, Wednesday 4 December – new applications to vote by proxy (a named person to vote at the polling station on your behalf)

The council’s elections team can help with any enquiries. Email electreg@erewash.gov.uk or call 0115 907 1190.
