Former pop star Vince Eager was the guest speaker at Ilkeston Probus Club this month.
In his heyday he worked with Marty Wilde, Billy Fury and Cliff Richard, and was the lead singer with the Vagabonds.
His presentation about his early career and rise to stardom was interesting and entertaining.
The Probus Club of Ilkeston is open to all retired/partly retired men who have a professional/business background who meet once a month for lunch and have other organised events during the year. Our aim is to provide a convivial atmosphere, in pleasant surroundings for conversation and the development of friendship and at each meeting we have speakers who make presentations on a diverse range of subjects.
