The junior team from Martins Martial Arts Academy / Gracie Barra Ilkeston competed in the Cheltenham Open recently, between them securing 5 Gold 5 Silver and 1 Bronze medals.
The 10 youngsters, aged between 9 and 14, took part in the competition, demonstrating a very high standard of Brazilian jujitsu and an incredible amount of determination and sportsmanship.
The team have competed in multiple competitions across the UK, including the National Championships, British Open, Welsh BJJ League and the European Championships. They are currently seeking sponsorship and donations to compete in the European Championships in Dublin, Ireland in November 2019, and for the World Championships in the USA in 2020.
