The Ilkeston Scouts had their annual Cross Country event on Saturday (13th October) after it was previously cancelled due to the weather in March! Thankfully the predicted rain did not happen, so the attendees were able to run and stay dry.
Every Group had members come to Shipley Park. The Beavers had a shorter route around the field, whilst the older Sections ran around Cinder Hill and finished with the same route as the Beavers. Some walked whilst other ran, and some did a bit of both. Everyone took part and had fun, no matter their ability!
Well done to all those who took part, a big thank you to all the helpers and adults that made it happen, and congratulations to the 2nd Ilkeston Scout Group who won the overall event.
