The members of Ilkeston Royal British Legion have been over the past few weeks. They completed the Great Pilgrimage to Ypres, Belgium on the 9th August, then were at Ladywood Care Homes’ Summer Fete on the 11th. The 12th saw them at the Ilkeston Classic Car Show. This is besides visiting some 20- odd veterans a week in their own homes or in Care Homes in and around Ilkeston.
Some members spent the afternoon of the 29th August with other veterans associations taking afternoon tea supporting the Not Forgotten Association at Breadsall Priory Marriott Hotel & Country Club.
Friday 31st Aug. they were with the R.A.F.A Stanton by Dale for the fallen bomber commemoration. Then on Monday 3rd September they were at the Merchant Navy Day Parade and after that thee rededication of their T.R.B.L. bench at Ilkeston Community Hospital.
