Successful Action4Cotmanhay challenge football match

I would like to say a massive thank you to all the wonderful volunteers that helped to make tonight’s A4C junior schools match between Cotmanhay and Granby the best yet.
We had two 15 year old lads Ellis White and Joe Newton who have trained in assistant referee roles that did not only themselves proud but did so much to help run an end to end game along with Paul White from Ilkeston Juniors who once again did an excellent job referring for us.
We had Shirley Argent to thank for all what she did behind the scenes getting all the food prepared for the junior players tonight.
A big thanks too for the help we received from Tesco from Martyn Harvey, Bakery Manger at Ilkeston and Angie Young for kind donation of fruit and cobs and help on the evening, and to our local MP Maggie Throup for coming up from London to present the medals, but the biggest thanks goes to the schools and the teams tonight who provided an outstanding match on what was a very warm night and to the parents for making it a truly wonderful community evening and to the members of A4C for once again providing their time to make these events happen.
Granby ran out winners of our cup but credit goes to Cotmanhay for an excellent sporting attitude a big thanks to everyone involved..
From John Allen, Vice Chair Action4Cotmanhay
