Royal Garden Party

Anyone wanting to celebrate the upcoming royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in style can head to Erewash Museum on Saturday 19 May to join in with a traditional garden party.

The free event has been organised by Ilkeston Methodist Church and takes place between 2pm and 5pm. There will be a range of activities all based around the garden party theme such as relay races where people can dress up in tiaras and royal attire. People will also be able to make their own royal flag and decorate a straw boater hat.

Bunting will adorn the gardens and those who attend will be able to enjoy a cream tea at the Old Stables Tea Room.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“This event will be a chance to for people in Erewash to join in with the Royal Wedding celebrations. The borough has many royal links and we know that many people will enjoy what is set to be a great traditional and fun event.”
