HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR A COMMUNITY WASHING MACHINE
An Ilkeston based community laundry service ‘Bright Street Laundry’ is appealing for help to
replace one of it’s industrial washing machines.
Bright Street Laundry is a Community Interest Company (not for profit), supporting over 200
people each year who are unable to carry out their own washing and ironing. Many residents
who use their services are terminally ill and for some, the laundry service can mean the
difference between being able to stop at home or being forced to go into a care home / hospital.
The organisation also supports people who often have complex physical and/or mental
disabilities or who are elderly and frail.
In a statement to Ilkeston Life, Chair Howard Forster said:
‘One of our 15 year old washing machines has broken and is beyond repair, we desperately need
to replace it with a new industrial machine. As we are a not for profit organisation we are unable
to save funds for large scale purchases so we are appealing to the local community for any help
they may be able to give’.
Bright Street Laundry are inviting donations from people and organisations via their
Crowdfunding page www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/brightstreetlaundry
Details of services are available at Facebook @brightstreetlaundry / 0115 9443621.
