Death of veteran soldier. Our condolences to his family and friends.

It is with greatest sorrow that I must inform you of the passing of WW 11 Veteran Sgt Ernest Turner. Ernie served in 120 Field Regt RA. He went over to Normandy on D-Day +1 where on numerous occasions his Battery was in front of the Infantry. Sadly, Ernie lost his last battle, bowl cancer. Ernie was one of the last few members of 120 Fd. Regt RA and it would be appreciated to gather Standards and Veterans to say farewell to a real gentleman and one hell of a fighter. The funeral takes place at 1530hrs 21st March, Bramcote Crematorium, Coventry Lane, Nottingham. NG9 3GJ.
