Bakery on the Hunt for Best Dressed Gingerbread Man
Family run Stacey’s Bakery is encouraging local children to get involved with a new competition to design the best gingerbread man in town.
The competition will run throughout half term, from Saturday February 17 until February 24, and the winner will be able to see their creation brought to life with a giant gingerbread man being created just for them in their winning design.
To get involved simply pop into any Stacey’s Bakery shop and ask for an undecorated gingerbread man. Once it has been decorated with edible toppings of your choice, send a photograph of the finished product to people@staceysbakery.co.uk or drop a photograph in store, with a name, age and contact number.
Owner, David Stacey who is a father-of-three young children, said: “As a family business we like to get our community involved whenever we can. This competition will be great for local children and their families to be creative and we look forward to seeing some of the fun designs they come up with.”
Gingerbread men are the most popular items sold at Stacey’s with 300 to 400 sold every day.
Anyone wanting to enter can pick up a gingerbread man from Stacey’s Bakery shops which are situated on Bath Street and South Street in Ilkeston, Market Street in Heanor and Nottingham Road in Eastwood.
The competition is open to children of all ages and the winner will be judged by David and the team at Stacey’s after half term.
