Train fans… We’re told the Steam Locomotive 5043 Earl of Mount Edgecumbe consisting of 11 vehicles (2 service and 9 passenger) will be arriving into Ilkeston Station on Saturday, 9thDecember 2017 at 1104 hours (departing at 1107 hours)

This is a very historic occasion as it is the first charter train to use the new station and it will be the first steam hauled train to service Ilkeston since 1965. It will also be the longest train to service the new station. There are 35 people getting onto the train from Ilkeston. It will be returning to Ilkeston on Saturday, 16 December (times unknown). The Mayor will be going to welcome it into the borough.
