Creative Erewash residents and organisations are being urged to go along to a fun Creative Networking event . . . on the beach at Erewash Museum!

Erewash Borough Council’s arts development officers are hosting the fun event on Monday 14 August between 4pm and 7pm and want to meet as many artists, crafts people and representatives from creative organisations as possible.

Light-hearted entertainment, including mocktails, a drumming circle and a sandcastle building competition, will be on offer as a platform for people with a whole range of creative skills to meet the arts team and share their talents and expertise with others.

The event is only open to crafts people, artists and creative organisations within Erewash and anyone interested in going along should email artsdev@erewash.gov.uk in advance.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“This is an excellent opportunity for creative people in our borough to meet other artists and crafts people. The aim is for the many talented people we have in Erewash to talk about their skills with like-minded individuals – all in the fun beach setting in the grounds of Erewash Museum. It is the perfect platform to encourage and support more partnership working locally.”

Erewash Museum is in Ilkeston town centre, a short walk from the Market Place. Contact 0115 907 1141, email museum@erewash.gov.uk or visit the Facebook page /erewashmuseum

• Families can go to the Erewash beach until Saturday 2 September between 11am and 3pm, where they can lounge in a deckchair, enjoy some light refreshments or ice cream from the Old Stables Tea Room, build sandcastles on the beach, and play with giant games. The museum is open Monday to Saturday 10am-4pm during the school holiday, with the exception of Bank Holiday Monday. Beach play will be subject to weather conditions.
