Staff from local charity Treetops Hospice Care came together on Sunday 2 July to celebrate being ranked 4th in the Sunday Times 100 Best Not-for-Profit Organisations to Work For.
Over 125 staff and guests from across the charity attended the summer celebration at Treetops which provides nursing care and emotional support for adults and their families across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
The Sunday Times results were revealed earlier this year but Treetops chief executive, George Cameron, wanted to wait till the summer so as many employees could get involved in celebrating as possible:
“We have over fifty Hospice at Home nurses providing care in people’s homes during the day and night and we knew when we first received the award in February that we couldn’t get them together immediately as many were on shift.
“Today has been great and a chance to say thank you to the wonderful staff we have here at Treetops. It’s a great place to work – everyone is completely centred on delivering exemplary care to those who use our services.
“Treetops takes great pride in recruiting staff who reflect our values and this has led to a culture of companionship and belonging. Everyone is willing to help each other, as we all have our service users at the heart of what we do.”
Last year the hospice supported over 1,750 people through its services which include Support and Information, a Day Care unit based in Risley, Hospice at Home nurses and Therapeutic Services including counselling, art therapy and complementary therapy.
