Local charity Treetops Hospice Care is appealing for donations of chocolate Easter Eggs of all shapes and sizes for its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday 15 April.

Over 1,000 children and their families are expected to search the grounds of the hospice in Risley between 9am and 1pm – and each child will get to take home an egg. Additional eggs are also welcomed for a chocolate tombola and raffle.

Senior community and events fundraiser, Mary Rose, explained more:

“Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is always really, really popular with families coming from across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to enjoy hunting around our 12 acre site – so we need to make sure we have enough eggs for everyone to enjoy!

“We’re welcoming donations from individuals as well as local businesses who want to help us put a smile on children’s faces – and help us raise money for a very worthwhile local cause at the same time.”

Treetops Hospice Care provides nursing care and emotional support for adults, their families and carers across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire free of charge.

Donations of Easter Eggs can be handed in to the hospice reception on Derby Road, Risley, Derbyshire DE72 3SS during the working week.

The Easter Egg Hunt will also feature an out-of-this-world visit by Stormtroopers from the 99th Garrison, a bouncy castle, fairground rides and refreshment stalls.

Entry costs £4 per child (including Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Egg) and £1 for adults.

Treetops services are available free of charge and include Support and Information, a Day Care unit based in Risley, Hospice at Home nurses and Therapeutic Services including counselling and complementary therapy.
