Erewash residents have the chance to get help and advice on all things financial during a dedicated Derbyshire Money Week next month.

The countywide initiative will see a wide range of experts on hand to offer support at a series of roadshows – including an event at Ilkeston market on Thursday 16 February between 10am and 3pm.

Organised by Derbyshire County Council and Financial Action and Advice Derbyshire, the roadshow is aimed at showing residents a whole range of information that could improve their finances and save them money.

Information on offer will include topics like getting help with debts, budgeting, community banks, benefit checks, affordable warmth, energy switching, eating well on a budget, help with child care costs and free school meals along with advice on how to avoid scams and loan sharks.

Councillor Carol Hart, Erewash Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Community Engagement, says:

“This is an excellent opportunity for people to get some valuable advice, tips and information at a roadshow event that will be friendly and welcoming.

“I would urge everyone to take the time to drop by the event at Ilkeston market to find out ways you may be able to improve your finances.”
