The first stage of the project to refurbish the Reception and Refreshment  areas at Ilkeston Community Hospital is on target and representatives of the Ilkeston Hospital League of Friends, the Estates Department of Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust (DCHS FT), which runs Ilkeston Community Hospital, and local hospital officials met recently to finalize the plans (pictured).

Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Peter Harrison of Cotmanhay (fourth from left), the project to provide a new Refreshment Bar has been welcomed by DCHS and is to be carried out jointly with the refurbishment of the hospital’s Main Reception area. The work will commence in July and plans will be on display at the hospital; members of the public are invited to view them and ask any questions.

Mike Perry, president of the Ilkeston Hospital League of Friends, said: “Where possible, local contractors and businesses are being invited to tender for the work in response to the frequent comment that it is our hospital. Please support us.”
