Children and adults with disabilities can enjoy a free have-a-go Disability Sports Day on Wednesday 8 June when a whole range of activities will be on offer.

The event, organised by Erewash Borough Council and the Erewash Village Games project, will be held between 9.30am and 2pm at Rutland Sports Park Leisure Centre in Ilkeston with outdoor activities taking place in various locations around the leisure centre.

Those going along will be able to sample sports including curling, archery, athletics, wheelchair basketball, golf and footgolf, football, cricket and table cricket, kick boxing, Nordic walking and much more.

Four local schools and Derby College that have pupils with disabilities will be attending, but any other schools that would like to take students to the event can contact Erewash Village Games Co-ordinator Toni Jantschenko on 07584 856 292 or email toni@villagegames.org.uk.
